Saturday cycling train on the Carinthian line 2026

For the tenth consecutive year, during the school holidays, a Saturday cycling train will run on the Carinthian line between Maribor and Bleiburg (Pliberk).

The service starts on Saturday, 13 June, and runs every Saturday until 29 August 2026, as well as on public holidays: 25 April, 1 May, 2 May, 25 June, and 15 August 2026.

The summer cycling train is the result of successful cooperation between Slovenian Railways, the Slovenian Infrastructure Agency, RRA Koroška, and RRA Podravje – Maribor.

The main purpose of the summer cycling train is to encourage tourism connectivity along the Drava Cycling Route.

Cycling along the Drava Cycling Route can also be combined with cycling along the Štrekna trail, where the Štrekna bus service is available.

Bicycle transport prices are fixed and do not depend on distance. The price for transporting a bicycle is €1.50, while the price for transporting an e-bike is €3.00.
