Panning for Gold – the Golden Drava project

The Partnership for the Drava Cycling Route, in cooperation with the Municipality of Starše, invites you to cycling along the route of the Drava Cycling Route and to the presentation of "panning for gold," as part of the GOLDEN DRAVA project, carried out in the Municipality of Starše. As part of the Golden Drava project, they are reviving stories about gold prospectors, with which they want to pass on to subsequent generations this cultural-historical tradition of gold panning in Zlatoličje. In the future, we can hope for a new adventure along the river Drava, which will enrich tourist offerings along the Drava Cycling Route.

Cycling and the presentation programme of the Golden Drava project with gold panning will be carried out on Saturday, September 12th, 2020 between 9 am and 4 pm in Zlatoličje.

8:45 am Gathering of cyclists in Maribor (the Old Vine House in Lent) and in Ptuj (pedestrian and cycling bridge)

9:00 am Start of cycling along the route of the Drava Cycling Route from Maribor and Ptuj to Zlatoličjea

10:30 am Arrival of cyclists to Športni park Zlatoličje (Sports Park), Zlatoličje 46a

10:35 am Introductory address, Marjan Malek, Deputy Mayor, acting Mayor of the Municipality of Starše

10:45 am Cycling to the Pal Farmstead

11:00 am Presentation and tour of the farm and Oldtimers' Museum, presentation and tasting of local offerings

11:45 am Cycling to the river Drava

12:00 pm Short presentation of projects related to the river Drava

12:20 pm Gold mining re-enactment - presentation of gold panning and gold prospecting snacka

14:20 pm Completion of the gold mining re-enactment and cycling back to Maribor and Ptuj
