Great race, great scenery: The Drava Cycling Route – Drava Bike at the heart of Stage Two of the Tour of Slovenia 2026

The Tour of Slovenia once again brings a top-class cycling spectacle to Slovenian roads this year. One of the highlights of this year’s edition will be Stage Two, which will follow Drava Cycling Route – Drava Bike from Radlje ob Dravi to Ormož. Along the Drava River, embraced by Koroška and Štajerska, one of the most recognizable days of this year’s race is expected.

Saturday cycling train on the Carinthian line 2026

For the tenth consecutive year, during the school holidays, a Saturday cycling train will run on the Carinthian line between Maribor and Bleiburg (Pliberk). The service will start on Saturday, 13 June 2026, and will operate every Saturday until 29 August 2026. In addition to Saturday services, the train will also run on public holidays, namely on 25 April, 1 May, 2 May, 25 June, and 15 August 2026.

On Saturday, 14 June 2025, the public institute Športni park Ruše will organize a water adventure called zDRAVAntura – a descent along the Drava River from Ruše to Limbuš, intended for lovers of nature and outdoor recreation.

The Assembly of the Partnership for the Drava Cycling Route – Drava Bike has elected a new president

On May 20, 2025, at the Assembly of the Partnership for the Drava Cycling Route – Drava Bike, members appointed a new Management Board for a four-year term. The new president is Mag. Alan Bukovnik, while the partnership expressed its gratitude to the outgoing president, Leo Kremžar.

Within the current financial framework, European funding is expected for the construction of new sections of the Drava Cycling Route – Drava Bike.

Saturday cycling train on the Koroška line 2025

For the ninth consecutive year, a Saturday bicycle train will operate during the school holidays along the Carinthian route between Maribor and Pliberk. The first ride will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

Warning News

The road Dravograd - Trbonje is closed again, but open for cyclists and pedestrians

Subsequently the Dravograd-Trbonje road was reopened to all traffic for the first time a month ago after natural disaster in August last year. However, the road is now once again closed to cars. The road in question is currently open only for cyclists and pedestrians. This situation is anticipated to remain until August 15, when restoration work will begin. The remediation will take one month. During this period, the road will be closed to all traffic.

The closure of the Koroška proga line Maribor – Dravograd

Slovenian Railways announces that due to work on the line between the stations Vuzenica - Dravograd (remediation of landslides after the recent storm), on Saturday, August 10, an alternative transport will be organized for all Saturday bicycle trains according to an adjusted timetable. The Maribor - Dravograd line will be closed between August 9 and 12, 2024.

As part of the 1st stage of the Dravograd - Radlje cycling route, there is a complete road closure on the section between Bukovje Manor and Trbonje Bridge.

Saturday bicycle train on the Koroška line (Koroška proga)

For the eighth year in a row, during the school holidays, a Saturday bicycle train will run along the Koroška line (Koroška proga) between Maribor and Pliberk.

It starts with rides on Saturday 15/6 and runs every Saturday until 24/8/2024, and for holidays 27/4, 1/5, 2/5, 25/6 and 15/8/2024.
