Family cycling trip along the Drava Bike Route – Drava Bike (Maribor–Ptuj)

For all family members who will not participate in the Marathon around Pohorje and other cycling enthusiasts, we are preparing a family cycling tour along the Drava Bike Route – Drava Bike between Maribor and Ptuj, with return as desired.

Event program:

9:00 Gathering of participants at Lent
9:30 Estimated start of cycling along the Drava Bike Route – Drava Bike between Maribor and Ptuj on the right side of the Drava River through Miklavž, Starše and Hajdina.
Along the way we stop at various locations and with various providers (Roman burial mounds, Golden Beach in Zlatoličje, interpretation units along the route and the

Interpretation Centre Drava Natura 2000 Ptuj).

Between 13:00 and 14:00 Estimated arrival in Ptuj, followed by stretching after cycling. Then, participants have the option to visit on their own Ptuj Castle, the City Tower, one of the restaurants or inns (Hotel and Restaurant Pomaranča, Terme Ptuj or Gostilna Ribič), or go swimming at Terme Ptuj.
Participants can choose a suitable time for the return trip and return along the same route or choose an alternative route over a few gentle and shorter ascents and descents on the left bank of the Drava River past Krčevina and Vurberk, continuing to Spodnji and Zgornji Duplek, through Trčova and Malečnik, or possibly choose the option of returning by train.

The family cycling event is organized by RRA Podravje – Maribor and Maribor Cycling Network as part of the Maribor Cycling Weekend.
