Third place for the zaDravo project in the Best EU Project 2025 competition.
The zaDravo project was ranked among the top three EU co-financed projects in Slovenia as part of the Best EU Project 2025 selection. This prestigious recognition confirms the success and high-quality implementation of the project, which promotes sustainable development and the preservation of natural heritage along the Drava River.
The project's success is the result of the dedicated work of numerous organizations and individuals who jointly pursued the project's objectives – including raising public awareness about the importance of natural values and improving the experiential infrastructure along the river. One of the most significant achievements of the project was the establishment of interpretive units in the Drava Natura 2000 area, offering visitors a new and deeper experience of the natural environment.
These interpretive points are situated at several locations along the river and enable visitors not only to observe nature but also to understand and experience it. In this way, the project contributes to sustainable tourism and encourages the protection of biodiversity. At the core of the interpretive content are stories about birds, the river, floodplain forests, and human presence – presented in a modern and immersive way that appeals to all generations.
