NOTICE | Accessibility of the Drava cycling route - Drava Bike

Due to the heavy rains that swept over Slovenia, many watercourses rose extremely quickly and flooded a considerable part of Slovenia. Many places are inaccessible, road and public transport is obstructed. The weather conditions are slowly calming down, but we still urge you to act prudently and responsibly.

The natural disaster did not spare even the Drava cycling route - Drava Bike.

We have collected key information for you about the accessibility of the Drava cycling route - Drava Bike.

STAGE 1: Dravograd - Radlje ob Drava

  • Complete closure | Dravograd - Trbonje
  • R3-702, Dravograd - Trbonje, near Trbonje, complete closure, damaged carriageway. Source: RS Directorate for Infrastructure
  • DETOUR: Possible on road G1-1, Dravograd - Maribor, where on the section Sv. Boštanj - Velka alternates one-way traffic, due to the removal of the consequences of floods and landslides.

STAGE 2: Radlje ob Dravi - Maribor

  • NOTICE | Fallen trees on the Studenci - Limbuš route
  • Section Studenci - Limbuš, through the forest Limbuški gozd (above the Drava center) is impassable to cross due to the large amount of fallen trees, and even more difficult to pass.
  • DETOUR: By the Marles.

STAGE 3: Maribor - Ptuj

  • The right side, via Starše, is IMPASSABLE, as the road is damaged (bumps, stones, fallen trees, ...).
  • Section Zrkovci - Miklavž na Dravskem polju is accessible with mountain bike and full measure of caution.
  • DETOUR: We recommend that you drive on the left side of the river Drava, 3. Stage Drava Bike via Duplek on asphalt (singposted Drava Bike Green route).

STAGE 4: Ptuj - Ormož

  • Trail is in bad shape, drive carefully.

STAGE 5: Ormož - Varaždin

  • We do not recommend cycling. The infrastructure is very damaged, some parts are still under water, in some sections cracks have appeared, the water level is very high and there is a possibility that it will flood somewhere.

STAGE 6: Varaždin - Legrad

  • We do not recommend cycling. The infrastructure is very damaged, some parts are still under water, in some sections cracks have appeared, the water level is very high and there is a possibility that it will flood somewhere.

Štrekna is accessible on the route Gornji Dolič - Mislinja - Slovenj Gradec - Šentjanž. The bicycle footbridge next to the destroyed bridge in Otiške Vrh is damaged, so the way further towards Dravograd is blocked. ŠTREKNA BUS is NOT operating until further notice!
