Interpretation Center DRAVA NATURA 2000 Ptuj
The Drava River has always shaped the lives of people.
This is a presentation of the life of the Drava River and the changes in the Drava River Corridor throughout history, promoting sustainable future use that contributes to the preservation of habitats and species. Join us on a journey through the Interpretive Center in Ptuj, where the Drava River intersects with its natural surroundings and the history of the town of Ptuj and its surroundings.
Experience the triangle of Drava – nature – humanity. This serves as the foundation for presenting facts and deeper meanings with the aim of fostering understanding, respect, and encouraging active participation in preserving nature and heritage along the Drava River. The interpretation in the center is aligned with the exhibition at Borl Castle and connected to the Šturmovci educational trail, as well as other interpretive sites along the Drava River.
The Interpretive Center is part of the overall museum offering, as well as the broader tourist and cultural attractions of the town, adding value by linking the natural and cultural heritage along the Drava River, between Maribor and Središče ob Dravi. Visitors exploring museum collections and other town landmarks can also visit the center, located in the building of the Ptuj-Ormož Regional Museum at Prešernova Street 37 (in close proximity to Ptuj Castle, the Dominican Monastery, and the old town center).
