Culinary pampering
"Natural, Homemade, Traditional" are the culinary characteristics that define Carinthian and Styrian cuisine.
Here, traditions, food, and dishes prepared in the traditional way using time-tested recipes are especially valued. Hosts in Carinthia are still able to prepare traditional dishes with intriguing names (like klocavi nudlni, štruklji, ožejeni žganci, mavželni, mežerli, tovsti grumpi...), inviting guests to a unique gourmet experience. Traditional dishes with rich flavors in Styria often feature pork, sauerkraut and turnips, beans, eggs, cream, cottage cheese, various grains, and of course, potatoes.
